Basic rules (edited book with an author)

Connor, U., & Upton, T. (Eds.). Applied corpus linguistics: A multi-dimensional perspective. Amsterdam: Rodopi.

In most cases, an edited book can be described as a collection of essays, articles or chapters written by various invited experts in the field. Almost the same rules apply to edited books as to printed books with an author, except that:

  1. the editor's name and initials are used in place of those of the author (there are two editors in the above example)
  2. Ed. (for one editor) or Eds. (for more than one editor) is added in parentheses after the names of the editor(s).
